Pressupostos da Hermenêutica das Profundidades e suas Potencialidades para a Pesquisa em Educação Matemática / Assumptions on the Depth Hermeneutics and its Potentialities for Researches in Mathematics Education

Resumo

Apresentamos, neste texto, alguns pressupostos da metodologia da Hermenêutica das Profundidades (HP), bem como as suas potencialidades e possibilidades para pesquisas em Educação Matemática. Essa metodologia, proposta pelo sociólogo britânico John Brookshire Thompson para o estudo das formas simbólicas, é composta de três movimentos analíticos: socio-histórico, formal e interpretação/reinterpretação. Dessa forma, além de destacar a metodologia em si, pretendemos apresentar como alguns educadores matemáticos têm mobilizado esse método, para analisar diferentes fontes, como: livros didáticos, livros científicos, teses de doutoramento e documentos oficiais. Enfocamos trabalhos desenvolvidos por membros do Grupo História Oral e Educação Matemática (GHOEM) e seus interlocutores.

The main intention of this essay is to present some assumptions on the Depth Hermeneutics as well as its Potentialities for Researches in Mathematics Education on the methodology called Depth Hermeneutics trying to emphasize its potential and its possibilities for researches in Mathematics Education. Proposed by the Sociology professor John Brookshire Thompson for the study of
symbolic forms, this methodology is composed by three analytical movements: socio-historical, formal-discursive, interpretation/re-interpretation. After briefly presentation of some focal points of this methodology, we discuss some mobilization of such theoretical approach as presented in the works of some mathematical educators. These researchers use Depth Hermeneutics as a method to
analyze different sources, such as, textbooks, science books, doctoral theses and official documents. We put the focus on the works done by members of the “Grupo History Oral e Educação Matemática” (Oral History and Mathematics Education Group – GHOEM) and their  interlocutors.
