A linguagem verbal em livros didáticos de Biologia / The verbal language in Biology text-books

Resumo

O foco do presente trabalho é a análise das características da linguagem verbal encontradasnos livros didáticos de Biologia (LDBio), na qualidade de limitadores ou promotores daaprendizagem. Dessa forma, tais obras foram analisadas quanto ao uso das linguagens figurada,técnico-científica e implícita. Após a coleta de dados em dez capítulos sobre embriologiaanimal contidos em oito livros, extraídos de seis coleções de LDBio destinadas ao EnsinoMédio, eles foram computados e sistematizados em tabelas. Foram consideradas 1499 palavrasou expressões, que não têm o mesmo significado da linguagem comum (sentido figurado),ou não fazem parte da linguagem coloquial do aluno (terminologia técnico-científica), ou,ainda, contêm sentidos implícitos (implicitação), inseridas em 123 páginas efetivamente analisadas.Visando a contribuir para a atividade docente, esta pesquisa chegou a alguns parâmetrospotencialmente eficazes para a análise de livros didáticos de Biologia.

The focus of the present study is the analysis of the characteristics of verbal languagefound on Biology text-books (BioTB), either to limit or to promote learning. This way, thebooks were analyzed regarding the use of figurative, technical-scientific and implicit languages.After collecting data in ten chapters about animal embryology of eight books, taken from sixcollections of BioTB designed to Secondary School, they were computed and systematized incharts.1499 words or expressions that do not have the same meaning on the common language(figurative sense) or that are not included in the colloquial language of students (technicalscientificterminology) or even have implicit sense (impliciting), included on 123 pageseffectively analyzed were taken into consideration. With a view to contributing to the teachingactivity, this research reached some parameters potentially efficient to the analysis of Biologytext-books.
